Save Money on Baby Stuff with these 5 Items

    1. Fisher-Price 2012 Space Saver High Chair Not only is this high chair popular and highly rated – it will save you a lot of money. The retail price is $59.95 but it is usually less on Amazon. With three height adjustments and three reclining positions – you can use this high chair before you even start feeding solids to your baby. The little one can join the family at the dinner table because this high chair reclines for a baby who cannot hold his head up yet.  Then you can use it when you start solids at around 6 months and then remove the tray for your toddler so it can be used as a booster chair. For only $60 or less, you’re getting everything you need.
    2. Summer Infant Contoured Changing PadThis changing pad is usually 45-50% off on Amazon and is currently under $14. Skip the changing table which will save you at least $60 and secure the pad to a dresser. Voila! A changing table for under $15. While a changing pad cover is not necessary – summer infant ultra push covers are usually around $10. If they are over $15, wait for a price drop. Amazon prices change quickly so waiting for a sale usually doesn’t take long and you can save money on baby stuff just by being patient
    3. Contours Lite Stroller Read my Contours Lite Stroller Review and see how an affordable, lightweight stroller can fit all your needs and save you money. Strollers can be very expensive and it’s tempting to buy one with all the bells and whistles which can cost you hundreds of dollars. But if you’re trying to save money on a new baby, you might want to consider a budget stroller.
    4. Ikea Gulliver Save on Baby with the Ikea Gulliver cribWhy spend hundreds of dollars on a crib when you can get the simple, modern Ikea Gulliver for under $100? It is sturdy and safe – check out this Consumer Search article that compiles Ikea Gulliver reviews from Baby Bargains and baby websites like Baby Center and Babble. We sold our first crib, the Graco Lauren, when we moved because we needed it up until the day we flew to our new home, and ended up getting the Ikea Gulliver. It is perfect because our daughter’s bedroom is small and now that she is a toddler, we converted into an adorable toddler bed.
    5. Safety 1st Simple Step Diaper Pail Save at least $100 with this diaper pail that uses regular plastic bags instead of expensive refills for other pails like the Diaper Genie. Ask around and most parents will tell you once your baby starts solids at around 6 months, no diaper pail on earth can contain the new stinky smells your angel will produce. So either way, you’ll be hauling dirty diapers to an outside garbage can. Might as well haul them in cheap or free plastic bags.
