Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller

January 24, 2013

When our daughter was about six months old, my husband and I decided to buy the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller. I really wanted to lose the rest of my baby weight by walking the dirt paths and hills behind our home. I tried exercising at home with a video but it just wasn’t motivating enough – the couch was too close to the TV (ha!) and I was pretty tired from waking up at night to care for my baby.

I had heard a lot of great things about BOB strollers but we just couldn’t justify paying that much money for a secondary stroller. We saved a couple hundred dollars by going with the Jeep stroller and I don’t regret it. Like many stay-at-home moms, I was getting pretty stir-crazy from being in the house all day so getting outside with the sun and fresh air was extremely invigorating. Not only did I feel better mentally and emotionally, I lost a good 5 pounds the first month I used it. I created a pro and con list of this stroller to help other moms decide if it is the right choice for them.

Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller Review

Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller

PROS:

  • My favorite thing is that my baby falls asleep within minutes and has a great nap while I am exercising.
  • It is much more affordable than the BOB jogging strollers which are over $300
  • The seat reclines and it is easy to recline after a baby falls asleep without waking them up.
  • The handle is adjustable and the height is perfect for my back.
  • There is lots of space in the parent bar for keys, chapstick, cell phone, etc.
  • I love the iBaby music system which lets you use your iPod or iPhone to play your favorite songs
  • It handles dirt, gravel and uneven roads and hills beautifully with air-filled tires
  • The basket is huge.
  • It is REALLY easy to put together. If I can do it, anyone can!
  • It is sturdy and really good quality.
  • It stands upright when folded which makes it easy to store and move around
  • The canopy is really big and it unzips so that you can move it to the middle or the front in order to block the sun or wind from your little one’s eyes. I am really excited about that because my baby hates the sun!

CONS:

  • The front wheel is always fixed so you can’t turn easily BUT it is not that big of a deal to swivel on the back wheels and I am already getting pretty good at it. It would be nice if you could unlock it but it’s more affordable because it is fixed
  • The pedometer is a little tricky to figure out but it’s fun for tracking your exercise.
  • It is pretty heavy at 28 pounds. If I need to take it somewhere, I will probably have my husband with me. You definitely don’t take this stroller to the mall.

Conclusion

Overall, I definitely recommend the Jeep Overland Limited Jogging Stroller. It is comfortable and safe for the baby and a great way for moms to get out of the house and in-shape.
